WINTER ROSES on the last day of 2008

I went out into my green house yesterday and cut fresh roses from my rose pots. Wow!!! What a special moment, to be able to have fresh cut roses in the winter, the last day of 2008. They are now in my office for me to look at until they are gone. AWESOME!!!!!! The winter blues are temporarily gone for the moment. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Here's our Birthday Boy! On Nov. 30th Skyler was an Official Teenager! 13-years-old!!!!!!!!!!!WOW !!!
You know I think he gets better looking as the days go on, not that he wasn't always cute, BUT now I can see longer eye lashes, thicker eyebrows, and ALWAYS that natural curly hair!!! WATCH OUT GIRLS!!!!

We had a delicious dinner and for a finalie we had Skyler's special request-Skookie with ice cream on top...like they serve at Fire House Pizza in the skillets.

It was soooooo GOOD! and rich.....I really had to monitor myself....

It dissappeared in a matter of minutes and the smaller skillets for the other kids went way fast also. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKYLER....WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

So.....now we have two teenagers in our family. WATCH OUT IAN...YOU'RE NEXT, DEAR HEART.

Nicole's New Jewelry Box

Nicole helped Grandpa make her a Jewelry Box. She did such a good job sanding the wood smooth. After many hours of a labor of love from Grandpa, we delivered the finished box to her on her birthday last Saturday.
Grandpa even covered the inside with red felt and made a smaller litte box to go inside for her rings and other small items. There are also gold hooks for her necklaces and bracelets to hang on.

We can't believe Nicole is now an official teenager. Skyler you're next. Wow, what happen to these babies that grew up. I'm feeling very old.

I think over the years she will really remember this neat item, more and more, because it is a one of a kind from the special hands of Grandpa.

Grandpa and I love all of you unique grandchildren. You make us proud and we love each and every one of you!!!!

Our Beloved Michael-please DON'T FORGET HIM

Here are my two specials guys in my life...beloved Michael & Roger
These lawn mowing scenes will be forever etched in my mind.

Michael is a bad driver so Roger has to hold onto his shirt or we would have a run away driver on our hands.

Hey, family don't ever forget this sweet guy. He has lots of love to offer in his own special way.

I hope when we are dead and gone that you will NEVER forget him. He loves to be with his family.

He recognized where "home" is and he knows mom and dad and would love to know you better.

Take a chance and spend some time with him. He loved to mow the lawn, eat out, go swimming.

AND most important..JUST HANG OUT WITH HIS FAMILY.

New live-ins at the Swaner Home

Every time we go out our back door "the eyes" are upon us. At least six deer, all shapes and sizes, are eating the blossoms off my potted plants, and Pears, apples, and some weeds (which I don't mind)
At least their safe at my house and not getting shot up in the mountains by Deer Hunters.

GREAT TRIP....Take time to look at photos and please make comments.

Another photo from Virgina City of the Baker's shop. I wouldn't be surprized if there is some hard old muffins in there.
An added bonus on this trip is the beautiful moose we happened upon.

On the way up and back on the freeway home, just north of Pocatello was this huge Budweiser sign on a group of silos in a farmer's field. You could see it for miles around. Cindy McCain would be so proud. (heir to her father's wealth)

You've got to see Virgina City at least Once in your life!

This ladies shop was unbelievable....Buttons, shoes, perfume, cloth etc.
more of the same -just stunning!!!!

These are old Edison rolls which you play on an Edison phonograph.
Take a look at the wallpaper and that old picture on the wall. I bet that was risque in its day.

Ghost Orbs in Virgina City...Happy Halloween!!!

Could this be another Ghost Orb from Virgina City? Maybe.
An awesome look at the old mercantile store. Everyone of those items on the shelfs could be sold on ebay for a ton of money. UNREAL!

The old assey office with orginal gemstones and rocks.
Old mining office......

Virgina City and photo of Ghost Orbs

Some of the stores you could only take the photos through glass windows. This is an old clothing store with the actual authentic clothing of the era. Notice the original photo of President Lincoln.
Spats and shirts and hats....awesome.
Hats and umberellas
Old grocery store with canned goods and much, much more.
MY FIRST GHOST PICTURE...NOTICE THE ORBS ON EACH SIDE...I didn't take this photo through a window. This may be ghost orbs from the past...oooooooooooh!!!!

I love Virigina City

Virigna City is like everyone was natched up by aliens and they left their business "as is".
Above is the old Dentist Office. This is the old stable.
The view of old business with wooden boardwalks.
The white building is newer...gift shop and dance hall.
An old shoe store with a mannequin shoe cobbler with a cracked head. He wouldn't leave with the aliens. Seriously, this guy (can't remember his name) back in the 70's bought up the entire town and told those who owned stores that they could stay until they die but they had to sign over their deeds to him. The guy then left everything as is, right down to the cans on the shelves, and everything else. WOW-IT WAS AWESOME. I've been here three times and the town still leaves me breathless!

More pics of cabins in the middle of nowhere

Inside the main cabin-a bed which I would be hestitate in sleeping in.
Someone is keeping it in liveable condition for someone...maybe deer hunters.
Old wood burning stove....
Oil table cloth with a place mate, candles, and artificial flowers..nice touch.

An old crocheted hot pad hanging on the wall above the stove.
