A Policeman picked me up!!!!

If I were to tell you the following story in person, I'm sure you would laugh loads...but here is what happened...

I had worked 7 hours at the bishop's store house and home cannery. I was tired...I wanted to get home and see the Jazz game. I was listening to the pregame show on the car radio and deep in thought when suddenly I saw red lights flashing in my car window. I rolled down the window and did my usual spill..."OH, I'm so sorry officer. I haven't had a ticket in years. I'm so sorry I was deep in thought and also listening to the radio." The officer said, "Lady, do you know how fast you were going? I replied, "No, officer." He said, "You were going 60 miles an hour through Smithfield Main Street." I retorted, "I'm so sorry. I can't believe my actions." He said, "Are you sure you didn't know how fast you were going?" And, for some reason, I flashed my missionary badge at him which was on my blouse and said, "Officer, I wouldn't lie. I'm a missionary." He looked at me, then paused and said, "OK I'll let you off this time." Then something automatically fell from my mouth..."Oh bless YOU!" He responded, "I wouldn't go that far lady."

Roger said if he had said all those things he would have still gotten a ticket.

Anyway, I counted my blessings that evening.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, Ruth! I LOVE that story. I am glad that you did not get a ticket. See what blessings are already coming from your service?! ;o)

See? Now aren't you just so glad that you accepted that calling?

And are the Jazz still worth all of that?

That was so funny!

I'm glad the officer was merciful (especially since they don't have a reputation for mercy).
