Before I take everything down I need to remember the brightness and colors of my livingroom in 2008.
Every item has a memory. I know when and where each thing was bought or given to me.
Some of these items are many years old....like old friends, I just can't part with them.
And, you know how I love red (especially red and green plaid)
Some of these items were my mothers and of course these jewels have a great meaning for me. They bring back childhood memories.
When you look again, my family, try and think of what it means to me to just have you look and appreciate.
My Christmas scene in the middle of my cabinets means a whole lot to me. The pinecones where hand painted by my father over 50 years ago. We had a huge Pine tree in our backyard and he would collect his favorites and hand paint them with paint and glitter.
Since we rotate our Christmas' with our children's in-laws, it will be an off year in 2009 and I don't know if I will decorate this year as much...so here are my memories. Would you believe that I put up all of this a week before Thanksgiving? I can't believe I did that.
Oh, I must still be a kid at heart. I love the red balls on the trees, the little elf and santa in his sleigh with his bag full of toys. I love to just sit in the room with just the Christmas lights on and listen to Christmas music.
I look at the little castles and think how fun it woul be to live there.
Wow, am I getting sentimental! But you know, I rather look at all of this then watch the news.
What is it that attracts me to red? Do I have a red personality? Hmmmmm...
I'm so glad I'm not colorblind....I NEED LOTS OF COLOR IN MY LIFE!!!
Oh glorious Christmas of 2008....you will always be in my memories.......
BUT, it's no good without family and friends to share it with.......UNTIL NEXT CHRISTMAS.....
