More Pics from Gem Hunting Trip

This is old rancher's cabins in the middle of nowhere between Virgina City and Dillon Montana
I peeked inside each and everyone of them. It's like looking back in history 100 years ago.
There was a small creek near by where Roger sucked up garnets by the thousands.
Most were small garnets but there's always hope that we would find the big ones.
Inside the main cabin was this old sink with water pump.

My heart goes out to Jayne this day.

clip-heart-rose1.jpgOur hearts and prayers go out to Jayne this morning. I'm sure she must have been afraid. I know the lord and his heavenly helpers were hovering near her. May we pray for her to be strong, brave, and patient. We love you Jayne and always pray for you.

Suck It Up!!! Roger's Unique way of finding gems

Only Roger would do it different then anyone else. Most guys would pan for gems. But no, Roger brings his Industrial Vaccum Cleaner and sucks up the river beds of their stones...then he drains off the river water and at the bottom of the vaccum are the stones. WHAT A GUY!!!
This area was right outside Virigina City, Montana. We didn't have to pay anyone for our efforts. (more later about the ghost I saw in Virgina City)
Hey guys, I think you would have fun with this and then the girls could fix lunches and visit.
The kids could fall into the river etc. etc.

The Dig at the Blue Saphire Mine Co.

This dig is outside of Helena, Montana at the Blue Sahppire Mine Company. Nestled on a hillside next to a beautiful lake, Roger digs in the pit. We had to buy a big bag of rocks which also allowed us the priviledge of digging in their pit. There's a sucker born every day, right?
The truck was packed with a cooler, grub box, and great food, which I fixed while I watched Roger do all the work. I even baked his favorite cookies. We meet people from all over the world while at this pit, even a retired couple who live on an island outside the state of Washington. (sorry I have to do seperate entries for these photos but I don't know how to keep them in order)

The Journey, Process, & Discovery of Gem Hunting

We have lots of heavy buckets we have to go through. It's fun when you discover a Sapphire or garnet. When you visit, you can help us. Sorry, the photos don't really show how beautiful they are. When big ones are found they have to be sent to be heat treated, polished, and faceted into rings, necklaces, etc.

We found two sahppires which were 2.23 carrots and 1.88 carrots. It would cost $69.00 to have them faceted into jewelery.

Why I live where I live!!

I love my Humming Birds..This is why....

There are those who ask, "Why do you live in that old house, in Smithfield, Cache Valley, Utah?" Well, for over 35 years we have a house full of memories, raising children, having fun, and growing in wisdom and strength, and insights. And, it was so nice for the children to drop by and visit grandpa and grandma Harris, just moments away. If my boys really searched their memory bank they will remember tons of activites at their home. Why do I live in my old house...mainly because I have seen it transform over the years into a quaint, unique, one-of-a-kind home. Roger made this transformation happen. BUT, why I live where I live can better be said in photos...... Friends.....
This is why>>>

This is why.......

Roger's fun shop with my FANTASTIC exersize room

WELCOME...THIS IS WHY I take my home any time above a "look-a-like-home". And, what about the stairs? Well, they're good excersize.

There is no other home in Smithfield, far & wide, that looks exactly like my home...this is why...

YUM-This is why!

BONUS SURPRIZE

While I was at the Grand Canyon with Friends, David, Gabe and Kids worked very hard one day and cleaned the upper floor of the shop where my exersize room is. It was so unorganized, cluttered and in a total upheaval. BUT to my astonisment and complete surprize they cleaned organized, put up a new shelf, and took two truck loads of stuff to the dumps. A BIG THANK YOU TO DAVID AND FAMILY!

BE SURE AND LOOK AT MY PREVIOUS BLOG TO SEE MY FANTASTIC EXERSIZE ROOM!

The table was a foot deep in tools & stuff but the yellow holders were used to organize-Thanks Gabe.

I wonder how long Roger will keep it this nice. David gives him six months.

I also have a little fridge up there with bottled water for working out.

Show Time for my NEW Exersize Room

From my new door to my FANTASTIC REEBOK...IT IS SO EXCITING!!!

This is where the new Flat Screen TV will go.

This is a view of the north wall. I will hang something beautiful there.

Over the window is this neat red metal sign that says
BELIEVE. Hopefully it will get me motivated.

The AbDoer is a fun item to have and it acts as a chair also.

Total Gym
Nice item to have.

My Great looking
shelf for this special Stero/CD Radio

And of course my AB Lounge on the left.

The room is 98% completed. The photos tell the story. IT is WONDERFUL! David laid the carpet and I started to move in the equipment. I haven't finished decorating the walls yet but it will be fun to do.

This is my new almost commerical grade Reebok Eliptical. IT IS FANASTASTIC!
